Yesterday, the first half of our team arrived in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua! After 3 long plane rides we arrived here and began to settle in and play with the kids at the orphanage. There was a power outage right as we were getting ready to download pictures and stuff to the blog so that’s why this post is today! We will be playing with the kids most of the day while some of the leaders go out to Betonia and check out Austin’s farm. Be praying for the second half of our team as they arrive today in Nicaragua!

About Our Team

We are a team of passionate individuals from Rolling Hills Community Church going to Nicaragua from June 15-25.

Our Mission: To share the love of Jesus through deeds and words with the men, women, and children of Betania and Puerto Cabezas.

RHCC and the Verbo Church in Puerto Cabezas have been partners for 2 years. We have been ministering side-by-side in order to strengthen and deepen relationships through the love of Jesus.

Pastor Earl has challenged RHCC High School seniors to make an impact in Betania by sharing the gospel and reaching out to villagers with love and support. Through bible story telling, games and crafts we will share the good news of Jesus Christ and His love with the 600 children and parents in the village. We will also help build the new satellite Verbo church and assist in Austin Fricker's model farm project which will help the community sustain itself for the future.

Through the donations of the RHCC community, we will also be distributing food baskets to the 111 families of Betania. Other activities include a barbecue, carnival with the Casa Banarbe orphanage, a prison visit in Puerto Cabezas, and a farewell fiesta with the orphans and Verbo staff!
